As the Managing Director of Woodtech Consultants, I can proudly say that Mumbaiwood 2024 has been nothing short of a remarkable event that stands as a testament to the resilience, passion, and determination of the Indian woodworking industry. The city of Mumbai, known for its unstoppable spirit, truly lived up to its reputation as the bustling hub of business and progress, as it welcomed industry leaders, professionals, and visitors to one of the most anticipated events of the year.
Despite the torrential rains and challenging weather conditions, Mumbaiwood 2024 showcased the unyielding resolve of Mumbai and its people. The downpour may have flooded streets and delayed schedules, but it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of thousands of attendees who braved the weather to make their way to the Bombay Exhibition Centre. This event was not just a celebration of woodworking machinery, but also a celebration of the indomitable spirit that defines Mumbai.
The bustling stalls, the ongoing discussions, the exchange of ideas – all reflected the collective commitment of the woodworking industry to push boundaries and innovate. As someone who has been in the business for over two decades, I was inspired by the energy of the city and the unwavering support from our customers, partners, and industry experts, who turned up in great numbers to make this event a success.
Mumbai has always been a city that thrives on challenges. From its history of rebuilding after monsoons to its resilience in the face of adversities, Mumbai never lets anyone down. This was evident at Mumbaiwood 2024, where visitors defied the heavy rains to ensure their presence. Even with streets flooded and transportation disrupted, our stall was filled with passionate professionals eager to learn, network, and explore the latest innovations in woodworking machinery. All thanks to the Unstoppable Force that is the spirit of Mumbai.
At Woodtech Consultants, we couldn’t be more grateful to the spirit of Mumbai and its people. Our team was overwhelmed by the dedication shown by our clients and industry peers who prioritized their participation despite the inclement weather. Mumbai has truly set an example for other cities in India by demonstrating that nothing can stand in the way of progress when there is determination and unity.
This year’s Mumbaiwood event also marked significant growth for the Indian woodworking industry. The event offered an opportunity for businesses to come together, showcase cutting-edge machinery, and discuss the future of the industry. We saw increased participation from small and medium-scale manufacturers, traders, and suppliers who are all playing crucial roles in transforming the woodworking landscape in India. It is definitely a growing industry that is bringing the Woodworking Community together!

A highlight of Mumbaiwood 2024 was the involvement of IWMMTA – Indian Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers and Traders Association. This prestigious organization represents the woodworking machinery industry in India and is committed to fostering growth and development. At Mumbaiwood 2024, IWMMTA held its first-ever public event – a Panel Discussion, which brought together industry leaders, manufacturers, and traders to deliberate on the future of woodworking machinery in India. IWMMTA was uniting the Industry for the First-Ever Public Event.
The panel discussion covered vital topics ranging from sustainability, automation, skill development, and innovation to the growing demand for customized machinery solutions. As a member of the IWMMTA and a panelist, I was honored to share my insights on how woodworking machinery manufacturers can support India’s booming furniture industry. The panel also discussed the challenges faced by the industry and the solutions required to drive the sector forward.
The spirit of Mumbai added a unique energy to the event. Despite the adverse weather, the auditorium witnessed some eager attendees, and the excitement in the room was palpable. There was a sense of camaraderie among the participants, driven by a shared goal of elevating the woodworking industry in India. The panel discussion was a resounding success, thanks in part to the unrelenting support from Mumbai’s business community.
The spirit of Mumbai, with its never-say-die attitude, inspired us all and proved once again that this city is the heartbeat of Indian business. The event strengthened our belief that collaboration, innovation, and resilience are the key pillars to building a brighter future for the woodworking industry.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Nürnberg Messe India for organizing this event, IWMMTA for their leadership and vision, and every individual who participated in Mumbaiwood 2024. Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of woodworking technology, contribute to the growth of the industry, and build a prosperous future for all.
